I really like the concept behind Banned Camp and the bigger conversation they’re creating around banned books and censorship. I especially enjoyed learning more about why certain books have been challenged or banned and hearing the context around what’s actually in them versus what people claim is in them. The hosts clearly care about the subject, and I appreciate that they’re willing to dig into the books themselves rather than just repeating the conversation happening around them. For me personally, the read-aloud format isn’t how I’d choose to experience a book. If I wanted to read one of the books they cover, I’d probably read or listen to the book separately and come to the podcast for the discussion, context, and breakdown of why it has been challenged. That said, the premise is interesting, the reason behind the show is important, and I can absolutely see the appeal for people who enjoy experiencing a book alongside the hosts.

I love the idea that you share what is banned inside of the different books and I’ve been able to make it funny and entertaining at the same time. I’m looking forward to listening to many more.

It’s one of those rare podcasts that’s both educational and genuinely fun to listen to.

I heard about the podcast from Beowulf Rochlen's pod and decided one day to give it a listen. Coincidentally they were reading one of my all-time favorite books, the catcher in the rye. Honestly I've read that book 20 times? Maybe more. But listening to the podcast was like I was reading the book for the very first time. Dan and Jen are the perfect hosts and if I don't laugh at least three times in an episode something is terribly wrong. Robot is genius. I absolutely love his input. The insertion of Trump sound bites are perfect and never too much. My only complaint about the podcast is that it is not 5 days a week.

I came across this podcast very recently, and I wish I’d found it sooner! As someone who very much disagrees with the “banning books” concept, I’m thrilled to find people fighting the good fight! Fantastic concept, I’ll continue to listen.

The world is a really weird place right now and it feels like more and more people are getting a little too comfortable disregarding the first amendment and banning books. Keep up the good fight :)

Banned Camp does an excellent job blending comedy, book discussions and thoughtful conversations about free speech and censorship. The hosts make complex and sometimes controversial topics approachable, engaging and entertaining without losing sight of their importance. This podcast is a refreshing and insightful listen. Highly recommend!

It’s like being a part of a FUN book club. They explain that they’ve never read the books before and they’re having a smart and interested, yet natural, conversation. I’m returning to this podcast again and again. Thank for creating this!

Banned Camp is so much fun! Who knew that reading banned books one chapter at a time could be so entertaining? Well, now I know, and I can’t recommend this show enough. It’s so much fun and makes me actually think why some of these books could ever get banned.

I really enjoyed listening to this podcast made me laugh with lots of humor.

I enjoyed listening and learning about why certain books may be banned. Some that are banned I never even realized! I definitely learned a lot and will definitely listen to more.

If you want the equivalent of an audiobook or a book on tape, this may not be for you. I appreciate the interaction between the two hosts and the ongoing discussion while they are reading the book. Since they are discussing banned books, politics are not just a sidenote, politics is actually what brought us to the need for this podcast. And I really do appreciate how they make my morning and evening commutes more tolerable.

I listen to books at the gym. The better the book the more I go. I really enjoy this. Thank you guys.

Interesting books but please reduce the chatter. Some is discussion is good and provides observation and insight , but please please please reduce it. I don’t find it distracting . Thank you.

I don’t know who came up with the idea for this podcast, its name, the sound effects and everything, but they deserve an award. This podcast is so fun to listen to, and the reading and commentary are amazing!

I have been bingeing this podcast and loving every minute. Dan and Jennifer have a great rapport. I feel like I’m in a book club, but more fun because I actually get to know the whole book. And the political commentary some people are claiming ruin the podcasts is essential, as book banning is a political action and needs to be fought.
